Performance coaching to ensure requested six-month sabbatical, resulted in a positive outcome for both parties   

Engaged by an HR Director, to coach a Senior Marketing Controller within the FMCG sector, following the employee’s request to take a six-month sabbatical.  Having completed Personality and Emotional Intelligence insights, it became clear that, after 10 years with the business, the marketeer needed to refocus, redefine and develop a clear short, medium and long term career plan.  This enabled him to successfully return to the organisation and deliver a strategic project across the business within a two year window.

Leadership coaching for CEO

Over a twelve-month period, Nick worked with a CEO to understand and develop his leadership style.  Although highly capable, it quickly became clear he needed to stop playing a role and embrace his natural style.  This change in emphasis allowed him to be consistent and known to his senior team.

One-to-one coaching in stress scenario

Nick closely worked with a Senior Social Services Manager, with over 20 years’ experience, who had lost confidence and was unclear about her future direction.  We started by clarifying her career satisfiers and core strengths, and reviewed the highs and lows of her career to date.  This ultimately led to a promotion into a new role, which was more aligned to her specialist background and interests.  The stress dissipated and the coachee’s emotional resilience, motivation and contribution transformed.

Transition coaching  

Following an annual Performance Development Plan with their boss, it became apparent that there was ‘something missing’ for the individual.   Allowing the employee an objective, confidential and independent space to explore and understand the ‘right’ route forward, it quickly became apparent that although he was in the right function he needed to take responsibility for his actions.  We built a short term fix to allow the opportunity to study for professional qualifications, as well as a 3-5 year career strategy.

Performance coaching for career realignment 

Nick encouraged and enabled Senior Account Manager from within the hospitality sector to explore and transition into a new field of respite care for severely sick children.  This completely aligned with her personal drivers and natural ability and she was subsequently, nationally recognised for ‘excellence’ in her new discipline.
